The Namibian National Olympic Committee (NNOC) will host an Athlete Career Programme in Windhoek on 9th November at the Polytechnic Hotel School in Windhoek. The course is presented by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), after the NNOC had successfully applied with the world governing body to help them with such a workshop on local level.
The programme, which is supported by the Adecco International Group, aims at helping athletes to undergo a successful career transition and is supervised by none other than Namibia’s most successful athlete, Frank Fredericks. The sprinting legend will be supported by Patrick Glennon, Adecco IOC Athlete Career Programme Manager.
All interested Namibian athletes can have their registration form e-mailed (firstname.lastname@example.org
) or faxed to them (061 237872). Entries will close on Wednesday, 30th October. Registration is free of charge.
The workshop presents ways of how to turn your dreams for a life after sport into successful results. It will include topics such as developing a successful game plan after an athlete’s sporting career, networking, as well as structuring a modern-day CV and learning the right skills necessary for a job interview. It is scheduled to begin at 9:00 and continue until 14:15.
